19th Century French School, "Napoleonic Battle Field in Winter", oil on wood panel, depicting a winter battle scene, a soldier wearing the Medusa mask helmet, comrades, and a dead horse in the foreground, with a pitched cavalry charge in the background, unsigned, framed. 8 3/4" x 13" (sight). 10 1/2" x 15" (framed). Condition: paint loss and flaking to sky, scratch through head of central figure, some paint instability in sky, cracquelure.
