French Military Daguerreotype

French Military Daguerreotype, quarter plate portrait of a young uniformed Frenchman, mounted in period oval wood frame. Rear inscription "Lucien Boudousquie/en avril 1853/(Lycee Henri IV)". The Lycee Henri IV was and is one of the more prestigious high schools in Paris. Also printed photographers label on rear from "E. Fixon" with address of "Rue Vivienne 33". Of note, some of the details on this image are finely engraved into the plate itself (cap edging, pants line, cuff line & breast line), while others are gilt (all buttons, collar insignia, & belt plate).
