TWAIN, Mark (1835-1910). A Tramp Abroad.London: Chatto and Windus, 1880. 2 vol. 8vo. (8 1/2 x 5 1/2 inches; 215 x 140 mm.) Original brown cloth, covers decoratively stamped in black, spine gilt and stramped in black, blue floral endpapers. Condition: Fore-edges very slightly spotted, few pages rudely opened with aome very short tears to page tops along gutter of a few leaves; spine ends barely rubbed, both volumes slightly skewed, else tight, bright copies. the first english edition. One of an estimated 500-750 copies printed and Twain's only 2 volume first. The present edition is scarce enough that it is only mentioned as a note by Blanck. BAL 3386 (note).
