Ambrotype of Philadelphia Boot Maker, signed on pad "Reimer. Philadelphia," sixth plate in full pressed paper case. He sits in his heavy winter coat and hat, posed with a boot and awl. Craig notes Benjamin F. Reimer as active as a daguerreian between 1849-1860. At the time this image was taken (1851-1857) his studio was located at 397 N. Second Street. Craig also cites his possible involvement with the anti-slavery movement.
