Ruby Ambrotype of Minnesota Man with Flu

Ruby Ambrotype of Minnesota Man with Flute, sixth plate size, in a full leather case with pad stamped "J.W. Monell, Artist. St. Anthony, M.T." Monell emigrated from Pennsylvania to Minnesota and operated a studio at the falls of the St. Anthony c. 1854-1860. A fine image showing a dapper lad holding his recorder. Pencil inscription behind image reads "Jno. W. Curtis, Canal Dover, Ohio 1869" though image clearly from late 50s.
