Condition/Details: Bound in illustrated boards with original dustjacket, this is a very scarce signed, first edition example of Pinkerton's novel about poor farm boys in Marathon County. Pinkerton was an important writer who also spent several years on the Alaskan seas with her husband, as well as five years in the Northwoods of Canada; she wrote books about each of these experiences. The book is signed "To Margaret Clat with all good wishes -- Kathrene" on the front free endpaper. The volume shows mild external wear, and is solidly bound with clean pages; there is some slight marginal loss on the dustjacket. The book measures approximately 6" x 8.75" and contains 347 pages.
