Condition/Details: Bound in tooled leather with raised spine bands, this early ledger contains dozens of pages of newspaper clippings, including news, poetry and period advertisements. There is also a complete 1939 newspaper folded in. The remainder of the large-scale volume is a handwritten business ledger from 1805-1806, with hundreds of entries written in beautiful pre-Victorian handwriting. The volume shows some external wear; some of the clippings pages are detached and intact, and all the pages are in general age toned and clear with occassional foxing.
