Author: Johann Gaarbrudt
Publisher: Georg Pfeiffer
Printing Year: 1837
Condition/Details: Bound in handsome catspaw-decorated calfskin boards with embossed spine, this is a very early German-language text, seemingly with some theological content. The work is attractively typset in old-style Germanic script typefaces. There is a beautifully scripted period owners inscription, bearing the name Peter Liebenguth and dated 1838, on the front free endpaper, and notations perhaps in the same hand on the rear free endpaper. The volume shows some external wear, and contains intact, significantly age-toned pages, some of which, including the title page, are loose. The book is otherwise intact and show nicely as an early and very scarce decorative German text. The book measures approximately 4.5" x 7" and contains 552 pages plus an 80 page addendum bound in. Shipping cost (within the U.S.) for this lot will be: $4.50
