EIGHTEENTH CENTURY QUEEN ANNE WING ARMCHAIR

Antique American Queen Anne wing armchair, circa 1720/1730. Pink brocade upholstery with mahogany legs and supports, scroll arms and shaped stretchers. In very good condition. Originally owned by Edwin J. Hipkiss who was an author and documentartian of the arts and antiques, as well as a curator at Boston's Museum of Fine Arts from the 1920's through the 1950's. His wife, May Hipkiss, nee Waldo, was a violinist with the Boston Philharmonic, and together they amassed an important collection of antiques and art work. This lot includes a letter of authenticity from the Hipkiss family. Measures: 46" Tall X 35" Wide X 23" Deep. Condition: Very Good
