ROOSEVELT, Franklin Delano (1882-1945). Typed letter signed "Franklin D Roosevelt" to Miss Sarah B. Owen, explaining that he had never purchased anything in her shop and that someone else is using his name. New York, 10 April 1923. 1 page, on Emmet, Marvin & Roosevelt stationery (11 x 8 1/2 inches; 278 x 215 mm). With one word added in black ink. Condition: Browned, a few creases. the future instigator of the new deal deals with a case of identity theft. "...I fear that you have been the victim of some unscrupulous person who is apparently using my name. I have not been in Baltimore or purchased anything in your shop...So far as I am aware there is no such person as Franklin Roosevelt II, the only other Franklin Roosevelt is one of my boys, Franklin D.
