Publication was financed by the French government with the intention of revealing to British readers the invasions and massacres in the East Indies committed by the Dutch who were allies of Britain, not France. One manuscript page bound in, in the hand of William Courthrope, 26 Mar. 1835, conveying a brief account of Capt. Nathaniel Courthope's death at the hands of the Dutch in Oct. 1620, when they seized from him the Island of Polaroone.

Condition report

Binding near fine. Text block closely trimmed affecting the word ''The'' on title page and page number ''IV'' (but not subsequent page numbers), minor foxing, few marginalia.
