Description
After George Simon Winter's Bellerophon, depicting dressage riders with riding crops in the right and the left hand, text in German and French, the right hand depiction labeled p.206, no. 2, the left hand depiction labeled p. 205 n.3, and another engraving depicting an equestrian theme, each framed. 13" x 13" (sight). 15" (framed). Condition: both in good condition, not examined out of frame, plate #2 with water stain to left corner and fold mark down center. Note: Winter's Bellerophon differed from other dressage manuals of the period because it advocated a gentler and more sensitive approach to the horse.
