Ten sets of door handles with lock plates, ca. 1922
Nickle-plated metal. Each set: 6 ¼ x 5 in. (15.9 x 12.7 cm). Manufactured by S.A. Loevy, Germany (40). Gehry to design their new offices, which were to become one of Gehry's most well-known commissions. During the construction of the building, Chiat/Day's temporary offices were housed in a 42,000 square foot warehouse. A central feature of the offices was the 54-foot space which Gehry designed in the shape of a fish, using wooden ribs and sheet metal.
