Staffordshire group, the tithe pig,

three standing figures: parson with folded hands, woman with child, farmer holding baby pig, satire of English farmer upon whom the church had levied a tithe, his wife tries to give the parson their tenth child which he will not accept, 19th century, 5-1/2 in. Repair to parson's hands, overall light crazing, glaze chips and losses throughout, losses to tree (parts of tree broken but present). Provenance: Collection of the Late William Edward Rudolph, Atlanta, Georgia.
