latticework with ormolu bosses flanked by bronze female sphinx, mounted on plinth with ormolu lions below, finely cast figures, early 19th century, slightly adjustable, 10 x 41-1/2 in. fully extended. Lacking several screws including feet of one sphinx, other sphinx with repaired leg, one end with old weld repair, other minor losses. Provenance: Private Collection.
