oval panels, seated figure in cave with bats, deep olive ground with gilt highlights, base faintly marked "GJ", "& Sons" within impressed crescent (George Jones and Sons) English, 1861-1873, 8 in. Excellent condition, minor loss to gilding. Provenance: Private Collection, Atlanta, Georgia. Possibly designed by Frederick Schenk. Illustrated in Bernard Bumpus, [Pate-sur-Pate], Barrie & Jenkins, London, 1992, page 162.
