Very fine Regency breakfront bookcase,

highly figured mahogany with finely matched veneers, pitched pediment, glazed upper doors with adjustable shelved interior, paneled lower doors, center section finely fitted with seven dovetailed mahogany drawers with pine secondary, flanked by paneled doors opening to shelved interiors, fully paneled back, British, 19th century, 85-1/4 x 89 x 20 in. Restored and secondary surfaces painted, top of lower section replaced, possibly altered, rich mellow brown color, refinished, minor veneer cracks and repairs, mullions and glass restored, other patches and restorations to door surrounds, other restorations to moldings. Provenance: Formerly part of the furnishings of the Library of Thwaite Hall, Norfolk, England; lot accompanied by note from previous owner regarding provenance; Private Collection.
