cavalry skirmish, signature not determined, oil on canvas, Dutch School, unframed, 21-3/4 x 30-1/2 in. Lined (19th century), canvas loose, darkened varnish, grime, crackle, cupping, some cleavage, overcleaned area left center, flaking, deteriorating tacking edge, several periods of restoration with approximately 25 percent of surface affected (obscured by varnish). Provenance: The Collection of the Late Thomas Cary Duncan Eaves, Purchased from Parke-Bernet Galleries, New York, circa 1930s.
