town views, 18th century: one with fountain and classical ruins, 28-1/2 x 37-3/4 in., [two periods of restoration with retouch throughout sky and scattered in lower half affecting 40 percent of surface]; one with arched gate, water wheel situated at water's edge, 28-3/4 x 37-3/4 in.; matching 18th century wood frames, one incised verso "IV", the other "III". Both lined, restretched on new stretchers, craquelure, flaking; frames with abrasions. Provenance: Works of art Deaccessioned by the Columbia Museum of Art, Columbia, South Carolina, Proceeds to benefit the Acquisitions Fund.
