Mediterranean harbor scene with castle ruins and figures on a quay, unsigned, oil on canvas, Italian School, late 18th/early 19th century, 50-1/4 x 39 in.; 20th century gilt wood and composition frame. Lined, crackle, some areas of overcleaning, two periods of restoration with retouch throughout affecting 40 percent of surface, most centralized in top half of painting; frame with abrasions. Provenance: Works of art Deaccessioned by the Columbia Museum of Art, Columbia, South Carolina, Proceeds to benefit the Acquisitions Fund.
