brooch, in the Art Nouveau style of Luis Masriera (unsigned), 14 kt. yellow gold with white gold overlay set with 41 round brillian cut diamonds, estimated total weight 0.50 ct., thorax with 1.01 ct. fine oval faceted blue sapphire, veined wings with translucent red, green and yellow enamel, two round faceted 0.32 ct. rubies and two round faceted 0.1 ct. emeralds, gross weight 21.4 grams, 1-7/8 x 3-1/2 in.; insurance replacement value $3,638; appraisal available. Minor wear, pin clasp lacking gnurled catch. Provenance: Private Collection, Hodges, South Carolina.
