Johnston, Landscape with Cows and a Stream, Oil on Canvas, 17 1/2" x 25 1/2" *Restored: Framed cleaned, Surface cleaning: numerous losses at the perimeter and interior were filled with a pigmented wax/resin mixture. Fills were later levelled with a cork and mineral spirits and sealed with a thin layer of sheller. Toning was done with dry pigments and a medium soluble in ethanol, light sprays of acrylic varnish to seal restorations back of painting was brushed and vacuumed clean; protective backing board of coroplast was attached to the stretcher.
