Oil on canvas painting of two dogs by "M. McDonald(?)", late 19th c., and mounted in an oak frame. 21.25"x16.25"

Frame is replaced and has losses, appears to be the original stretcher and is stamp dated 1888, very large hole to center of canvas, smaller hole to right side of canvas near hound's ear, paint losses left of hound's chest, have found no information on the artist, frame being a replacement is obscuring other writing under the signature as viewed in hotograph of signature and we will not remove from frame.
