Extremely Rare 1807 Connecticut Bond

February 1, 1807, Six Percent Connecticut Bond, Hartford, Choice Extremely Fine.
Partly-printed Document Signed, "Thomas Bull", and by witnesses Oliver Kingsbury and John Caldwell, fine-laid, watermarked paper, 10" x 16" folded sheet, acknowledging that Bull was "bound and obliged" to pay "Six thousand four hundred Dollars... unto... Andrew Kingsbury"--the treasurer of Connecticut. Bull was due to pay the sum of "three thousand two hundred dollars"--plus six percent interest--by the second of September, and annually until the principal was paid off. Very clean, crisp manuscript on impeccable paper. Light show-through on the top margin from inside docketing notations, which detail the payments made from 1810 to 1813. A few tiny splits at the fold line do not detract from the overall attraction of this piece. A very rare Connecticut bond -- the first of this type we've ever offered.
