Impressive April 20, 1781 Three Pence PMG EF-40 "EPQ"
Pennsylvania. April 20, 1781. Three Pence. Plate B. PMG graded Extremely Fine-40 Exceptional Paper Quality.
This is a scarce, "New Bill" type, that was printed by "John Dunlap, 1781" in Philadelphia. The paper quality is properly designated Exceptional and the surfaces are immaculate. The face centering and margins have the look of a Gem CU note. The back centering is not perfectly straight, but the assigned grade is conservative. Printed by John Dunlap of Philadelphia, who made the first Broadside printed edition of the Declaration of Independence. One those copies has sold for over eight million dollars.
