1713-D, "French Colonies" Billon Mousquetaires or 30 Deniers, Vlack-6a, Extremely Fine.
Rarity-2. Struck at the Lyon Mint under King Louis XIV, the 30 Deniers coin from this mint was specifically authorized for circulation in Canada. A nice looking, earlier French colonial issue, with most of the silver wash intact, and some micro-porosity. Most of the inscriptions are clear. This series is listed on page 51 of the 2008 Guide Book of U.S. Coins (Red Book), where the coins of this mint are priced at $650 in Extremely Fine. An affordable colonial coin.
