Connecticut Coppers
Sharp Connecticut Copper "ETLIB INDE" Miller 1.1-A Superior to the Guide Book Plate Coin

1787 Connecticut Copper, Small Head Facing Right, "ETLIB INDE," Miller 1.1-A, Choice Extremely Fine.
Rarity-3 (Scarce). 121.3 grains. This deep chocolate-brown coin is well struck and with some typical minor central die roughness on the reverse. There is an old removable collector variety attribution "1-A" in the left obverse field. Some light wear on the highpoints, much of the detail is sharp and clear, which is rare for this variety. It is vastly superior in strike and overall quality to the Guide Book plate example for this type, as shown on page 59. A highlight for any Connecticut Copper collection. The Red Book lists this major type at $4,000 in EF-40.
