Original "Lamson" Coin Changer
c. 1870, Lamson Plated Cast-Iron Coin Changer, Choice Fine.
Measuring 7.5" tall x 13.25" wide x 7" deep, this simple yet efficient coin changer characterize why "Lamson" has been so successful. The design is simple as well as elegant with the name "Lamson" running vertically down each ornate brass side panel. The front of the bank features slots into which coins could be placed, along with levers marked by denomination. The levers marked as 100, 50, 25, 10, 5, and 1. One coin is released every time a lever is depressed. The machine is in full working condition and there is only minor signs of age and rusting. A wonderful piece of related numismatic history.
