Roy De Forest (American, 1930 - 2007) Comp. B. Color lithograph. Early 1950s. Probably an artist's proof. Signed in pencil, lower left; titled in pencil, lower right. 18 15/16 x 25 1/4 in. (481 x 641 mm). Sheet Size: 22 x 28 1/4 in. (559 x 718 mm). De Forest's work evolved through a number of styles, from abstraction to non-objective, from funk to realism. His early paintings were composed of larger, overlapping, amorphous shapes in bright colors. The early prints were not as colorful and were characterized by "Motherwellian" blacks.
