c. 1860 Civil War Era, Hand-Engraved Silver, Decorative Heraldic American "Union" Shield Design Pinback, Extremely Fine.
This original, 21 mm,uniquely designed Civil War-era pin has the very finely engraved Legend which reads, "FAITH HOPE - CHARITY," surrounding a fountain and an all-seeing eye at center. This pin also has its original pin on the back, some outer decorative designs along the edges and three major central engraved symbols including; The Jewish Torah - A Flowing Fountain - A Naval Anchor. The words Faith, Hope and Charity are also central themes, often repeated in Jewish Prayers.
