Mini Guizhou Dragon, 240 Million Year Old Marine Reptile.
Better known as Keichousaurus, these mini dragons have been collected and valued for good luck by the Chinese for hundreds of years. This specimen is 9 inches long, and nearly complete except for minor restoration to a few of the tiny digits of the front hands. The ribs, tail, tiny foot bones and skull are complete and black in color sitting on a 10" x 6" stone matrix. There are three natural white calcite streaks through the matrix. These are not defects, there is one repaired break which does not affect the aesthetics of this specimen. Keichousaurus was the ancestor of the long necked Plesiosaurus and it has recently been determined that they gave birth in the water to living young rather than returning to the land to lay eggs.
