SCOTT 119b CONDITION: faint soiling in the left and right margins GRADE: FINE CERTIFICATION: 1955 photograph signed on the back by Stanley Ashbrook, 1967 and 2007 PHILATELIC FOUNDATION COMMENTS: Only THREE unused examples exist. The collector purchased this along with the next two lots as a set of three in the Charles A. Schafer auction conducted by Daniel F. Kelleher Co. on Feb. 1, 1974 (sale 518). Before being part of the Schafer collection, this set was part of the Sinclair, Ward, Ferrari, and Hindes collections. One of the other two examples ( ex Lichtenstein, Worthington, Ishikawa, Lilly, Hind, Lafayette and others) has original gum with a few negligible gum soaks. It is now being offered for sale with a PSE certificate graded 70 for $2,500,000.
