Scott 296a CONDITION: disturbed gum and a small central thin spot GRADE: VERY FINE CERTIFICATION: 1972 and 2007 PHILATELIC FOUNDATION COMMENTS: Because the 4c Pan-Americans with Inverted Center were removed from mounting paper, they often have thins or disturbed gum. They were not sold over a post office counter. Approximately 100 are believed to exist. Accompanied by the lot card where purchased by the collector in the Harmer Rooke sale of September 20, 1972 – the same sale where he bought the Inverted Jenny.
