Plumbe daguerreotype in Plumbe case gilded logo

Fine gold-toned 1/6 plate in an octagonal mat stamped "Plumbe" Boston. A reflective gentleman, with buttons and pinky ring gilded. He has full hair. This is in a rare example of the case with Plumbe's gilded logo with eagle for his 50 cent Daguerrotypes stamped on the cover [upside down.] This is case 4 – 85G in Berg's catalog. [4-]
