Terrific ¼ plate daguerreotype shows this clear-eyed young man looking straight at us with his almond eyes. His curls droop down over his ears beneath the hat. A large stickpin penetrates his tie. His light vest is wonderfully rendered with its texture and pink sheen—- not solarized as would be expected. His hands at his waist provoke. Slight haze over the lower right corner. This is on a "Meade Brothers Importers" plate, in a nice complete case with floral design. [3+]
