Surely she was not yet a hunter herself, but she seems comfortable and familiar with this object. Her top curl echoes the circular end of the horn. This is very unusual daguerreotype that combines two motifs-- hunting, and sweet portraits of children. 1/6 plate daguerreotype in an oval mat, in a nice full case with star design. [3+]
