SUCCESSFUL MAN OF POWER. ½ plate daguerreotype in an oversize mat in a wooden frame, making it seem larger. His face suggests he could be persuasive, stern or friendly as the situation required. A few light scrapes and a light stain. Light coloring on his face, chain gilded. [3]
