4. PAUL REVERE (1735-1818) American silversmith and patriot who rode from Boston to Lexington to warn of the advance of the British, also designed the first printed Continental currency and the colonies' first official seal. A.D.S. on a 7" x 1" slip of paper removed from an account book, in full: "Boston, April 21, 1800 Rec'd Eighty Dollars in part Paul Revere". Moderate show-through from text on verso, else very good. A nice affordable example. $5,000-6,000
