SAMUEL ADAMS (1722 - 1803) Signer of the Declaration of Independence, an American revolutionary politician who organized opposition to the Stamp Act and was a leader in the agitation that led to Boston Tea Party. Partly-printed D.S. as Governor, 1p. folio, Boston, Apr. 28, 1794, an appointment of another Samuel Adams to serve as Surgeon in the Second Regiment of the state militia. Co-signed by JOHN AVERY as Secretary. Folds, with tiny holes at fold junctures, slight edge wear, else very good. Ironically, only four years earlier, Adams' only son, Samuel, also a surgeon trained by Dr. Warren, had passed away.$1,000-1,500
