HENRY LEE (1756-1818) "Light Horse Harry Lee", American soldier and politician, a brilliant cavalry commander in the Revolutionary War, member of the Continental Congress who said of Washington: "First in war, first in peace, and first in the hearts of his countrymen". A.L.S. 4pp. 4to., [n.p.], Feb. 27, 1808, a lengthy letter apparently concerning Lee's claims against an estate, and in the postscript setting forth many geneological details. A few tiny marginal tears with no loss, else boldly written and very good. $300-500
