57. (REVOLUTIONARY WAR MUSTER ROLL) Manuscript D.S. 2pp. oblong legal folio, "Camp White Plains" July 31, 1778 listing the disposition of the eight companies of the 1st. Massachusetts Regiment, John Bailey commanding, including officers, staff, and rank & file, totaling 379 fit for duty. Also noted are those on furlough, detached on other duties and of course, those too sick to serve. In all the regiment was only at two-thirds of full strength, not an uncommon situation. Signed on the verso by Adjutant, Luther Bailey. A few chips along the margins, light soiling, otherwise very good condition.$400-600
