111. DANVILLE LEADBETTER (1811-1866) Confederate brigadier general who constructed the defenses at Mobile and Chattanooga. After the war he fled to Mexico and then Canada, where he died. Rare war-date D.S. signed twice "D. Leadbetter Brig. Genl.", 1p. sm. folio, [n.p.], Apr. 27, 1864, a forage requisition for two horses totaling 190 pounds, signed twice at conclusion. $700-900
