Lee Capt.Engrs." while serving in the Corps of Engineers, 1p. 6" x1 3/4", [St. Louis, c. 1838] a certification that articles charged for have been received and will be used for the proper purposes, namely the "improvement of the Mississippi River above the mouth of the Ohio". Partial loss at right margin resulting in the loss of several words, one small hole and a few creases well clear of signature, otherwise very good. $2,000-3,000
