133. CHARLES MILLER SHELLEY (1833-1907) Confederate brigadier general who fought at Vicksburg, Atlanta, and Franklin where he had his horse shot from under him. Rare war-date D.S. "Approved C. M. Shelley Col. Comdg", 1p. 4to., [n.p.], Aug. 2, 1862, a partly-printed discharge give to James Perry of Captain Edward P. Woodward's company of the 30th Alabama Volunteers, Perry was an 18-year-old farmer discharged by reason of "physical disability". Fine condition. $750-1,000
