160. (CONFEDERATE NAVAL DOCUMENTS) Fine lot of three rare Confederate naval-related documents. The first is a circular order 1p. 4to., Richmond, Feb. 6, 1865 from the C.S. Navy Department's Office of Provision and Clothing noting the clothing and bedding to be issued to all midshipmen and the frequency of issue including such items as a "Pea Jacket", "Round Jacket" and other sundries. Together with a second printed document,, 4pp. folio, Richmond, Apr. 7, 1864 from the First Auditor's office in the Treasury Department which lists the details the decision of the Secretary of the Navy "...that all officers of the Confederate States Navy [are] entitled to allowance of quarters and fuel under the act of Congress approved Feb. 16, 1864..." A chart, which covers the second and third pages lists the order of precedence for Naval officers from Admiral to Gunner noting the "No. of rooms and amount of fuel for officers of the Navy, and the amount they are entitled to when receiving commutation of fuel and quarters..." Some wrinkles and usual folds, otherwise very good. Sold with a blank printed document, 1p. legal folio, [n.p., n.d.] a generic "_____ Roll" for accounts for a Confederate Steamer with entries for pay, rations, clothing, "Small Stores", and "Hospital Fund" with signature blanks for the commanding officer and paymaster of the ship. All bear the usual folds, light soiling, otherwise very good condition.$1,000-1,500
