177. (UNION PRISONERS AT ANDERSONVILLE) Excessively rare gallery card with albumen photograph, 5 1/2" x 4 1/2" sepia by Confederate photographer A.J. Riddle showing dozens of decrepit tents in the background, with prisoners at the latrine in the foreground at the infamous Confederate prison, Camp Sumter (Andersonville), Georgia. The pasted-on caption reads: "Union Prisoners of War at Camp Sumter, Andersonville, Georgia South-East View - Taken From the Stockade Photographed by A. J. Riddle, Aug. 17th, 1864". Very light glue stains at edges of photo and caption not affecting image, else very good. $1,500-2,000
