CHRIS MADSEN (1851 - 1944) Prominent frontier lawman who witnessed Cody's scalping of Yellow Hand, with Heck Thomas he was a captor of members of the Dalton Gang, killers Kid Lewis and Foster Crawford, and train robber Henry Silva. Madsen also rode with Theodore Roosevelt's Rough Riders in Cuba. Scarce D.S. 1p. legal folio, Guthrie, Oklahoma Terr., Jan. 17, 1893, a partly-printed recept for office supplies signed by Madsen as Marshal. Fine condition. $600-800
