CHRIS MADSEN (1851-1944) Prominent frontier lawman who witnessed Cody's scalping of Yellow Hand, with Heck Thomas he was a captor of members of the Dalton Gang, killers Kid Lewis and Foster Crawford, and train robber Henry Silva. Madsen also rode with Theodore Roosevelt's Rough Riders in Cuba. Rare A.D.S. "C. Madsen", 1p. 7 1/2" x 2 1/2", Guthrie, Oklahoma Territory, Oct. 19, 1907, a partly-printed receipt by Charles Saux for $2.00 paid to him for having served as a guard over "Claud Hatson and 19 others" while in service to Madsen. A tiny file hole in blank area, otherwise near fine.$700-900
