573. ROBERT BADEN-POWELL (1857 - 1941) English soldier and the savior of Mafeking who later founded the Boy Scouts. Scouting content A.L.S. "Robert Baden Powell" 2pp. 8vo., Plumstead, March 18, 1927, to Ledley [?] Williams, in part: "... I have just left Modear [?]. Should it now come into your district it is a place wanting for scouting. Lots of boys wanting it. And a hostel for poor whites where it would be useful... Dr. Black, an ex Boy Scout... is unfortunately probably about to leave, but he stoutly recommends Mr. Duncker, a master in the school as particularly keen and capable... ". Moderately foxed on first page, a central fold, otherwise very good. $500-700
