579. GEORGE HERMAN "BABE" RUTH (1895 - 1948) Legendary American baseball star and Hall of Famer who hit 60 homer runs in 1927 and had a career total of 714. Signed unofficial Wilson baseball marked "Official League", heavily shellacked and moderately toned, signed "Babe Ruth" on the sweet spot, also signed elsewhere by Detroit Tigers ca. early 1930's, HOF'S MICKEY COCHRANE and CHARLES GEHRINGER, and four others.
